Entry from: Beijing, China Entry Title: "Beijing Language and Cultural University" Entry: "Today we began the day with breakfast which was buffet style which I guess is a staple in most hotels -- the breakfast buffet. What was not similar was the choice of food. This morning I had rice with scrambled eggs in it, round shell noodles with kind of a spicy sauce, a hash brown and some watermelon. I also had peach juice which I loved but they also had kiwi juice which I think I will try tomorrow along with some of the other breakfast food selections. Then we met up with Mr. Speakman the program director and Bobbi a Chinese BLCU student and off we went on a walking tour of the campus which is just down the street from our hotel. We went to the school's conference center and had an orientation class and lunch. Lunch was family style again so we got to try a bit of lots of things. We had kung pow chicken which I was my favorite thing to eat in China so far -- it was spicy and had peanuts -- mmmmm. We also had dumplings, broccoli, another plate of vegetables, eggplant (which I ate and it was not bad), beef and peppers, fish (complete with head and tail again), sesame rolls with a bean paste inside, sticky rolls with a honey butter sauce, and sweet corn soup.
